Assassin’s Creed Invictus takes inspiration from Fall Guys, says leaker

New details about Assassin’s Creed Invictus have leaked online.

According to X/Twitter user j0nathan – a leaker with an extraordinary background in Assassin’s Creed information – Invictus will be a Fall Guys-inspired multiplayer game in which players will assume the avatars of different Assassin’s Creed characters and fight to pass each round.

“It’ll be a sort of ‘Fall Guys’ – 16 players (at the moment) competing over multiple rounds with different ‘games’,” wrote j0nathan, as translated by Google and what’s left of my French GCSE.

“Game types include Team Deathmatch, another free-for-all, and a speed game where you have to go to points of light scattered around the map. If you qualify for the next round, you can choose types of powers to form a build in the final game.”

Interestingly, Jonathan believes he can “confirm” two characters – Ezio and Cesare Borgia – and claims that the gameplay will be “arcade-like” in nature, “with hits that have no real impact and even a ‘bubble’ shield like in Smash Bros.”

The maps will be inspired by Assassin’s Creed games, such as Baghdad in Mirage, Japan in Shadows, “a map on a paradise island” probably inspired by Black Flag. There will also be a map based on Pompeii, with “lava flows”.

Without formal confirmation from Ubisoft one way or the other, all we can do for now is take this as a rumor, but even the subreddit’s moderation team admits that Jonathan has been “pretty accurate” with previous Assassin’s Creed-flavored leaks.

“We don’t know how true this information is, so maybe we shouldn’t draw any conclusions from it?” the moderator warned. “Of course, Jonathan has already disclosed information that was at least somewhat accurate. But that information could be old or incomplete. Or just plain wrong.”

In June, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot condemned “malicious and personal online attacks” directed at the game’s developers following the initial reveal of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Assassin’s Creed franchise director Marc-Alexis Côté recently said he had to “step back” rather than respond to criticism of the game on social media from X owner Elon Musk.
