8th annual Break the Silence festival celebrates high notes – The Fort Morgan Times

On Saturday, September 7, the 8th annual Break the Silence Festival transformed Fort Morgan’s Glenn Miller Park into a beacon of hope, resilience and community support. The event, hosted by Break the Silence, Inc., brought together hundreds of people from the local community and beyond, all united by a common cause: raising awareness about mental health and mental health.
suicide prevention.

The day began with a dynamic poker race, starting and ending at Glenn Miller Park.
has been through several establishments, including the Queens Lounge, the Pawnee Station Restaurant,
Hootenannies, Tipsy Cow Bar & Grill and The Place.

Throughout the day, participants were treated to powerful testimonies from various speakers,
with Kelly Melissa Reinhart, the founder of Make Mental Health Matter, who delivers a particularly
poignant message. Reinhart stressed the importance of reaching out and connecting with
others, especially in times of difficulty. His words reminded us that no one is obliged
face their challenges alone.

The festival also featured a silent auction, where attendees had the opportunity to bid on a
variety of items, with all proceeds going to support mental health services in the community.
The festival featured a lineup of musical performances. Bands like Trampolines, Thousand
Years Wide, Mud Country, the Mendenhall Experience and School of Rock Highlands Ranch
brought energy and entertainment to the park.

In addition to entertainment, the festival provided a valuable platform for local organizations
and services to connect with the community. Booths have been set up throughout the park, offering
resources and information on a wide range of topics including mental health, addiction,
and Veterans Support. Representatives from Centennial Mental Health, North Colorado
Health Alliance and various sober living homes were present to discuss the services they offer
and provide advice to those who need it.

Kelly Paris, executive director of Break the Silence, expressed her gratitude for the
massive community support.

“We are so excited to be back for our 8th year, and I am extremely grateful for the support from the community, and I want to thank everyone for coming out and experiencing the festival,” Paris said. She emphasized the importance of the event in raising awareness and providing critical resources to those in need. Additionally, she wanted to extend a huge thank you to the sponsors who helped make the event bigger than ever.”
