Mental health scholarship offered to LGBTQ+ residents through Clarksville Q

CLARKSVILLE, TN − LGBTQ+ Montgomery County residents now have a local option to receive affirming mental health care with sex-positive and trauma-informed clinicians and interns at Healing Umbrella Psychotherapy in Nashville, offered in-person or via telehealth.

Healing Umbrella Psychotherapy LLC is a trans-led group practice of openly LGBTQ+ clinicians in Nashville who provide individual, couples+, and group therapy, as well as psychiatric medication management.

In August, Healing Umbrella received grant funding from Clarksville Q, a queer advocacy group focused on building resources for the LGBTQIA+ community and began offering the mental health scholarship for therapy and psychiatric medication services on Sept. 4. The $21,000 grant is provided for mental health care at Healing Umbrella Psychotherapy at low or no cost to the client based on economic vulnerability.

“Our board is working to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ folks in Clarksville, and mental health is one of our priorities. Take Healing Umbrella up on their offer. You are not alone, and their team wants to help,” said Charles Uffelman, Clarksville Q Convenor.

The contact form is open now, and economically vulnerable LGBTQ+ Montgomery County residents interested in the Clarksville Q Mental Health scholarship can check the box on the form.
