Blue Jays Roundup: Golf qualifies for State Meet – Jamestown Sun

JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown High School girls golf team’s season has been extended.

A 382-point performance at the WDA Golf Meet qualified the Jays for the 2024 Class A State Golf Meet next week. The Jays placed fifth out of the 11 competing teams. Mandan won his second-straight West Region Tournament title tallying a team score of 350. Minot North junior Emersyn Kopp was the WDA champion carding a 78.

Golfers who score a 93 or better also meet the state meet individual qualifying standards. The Blue Jays had two golfers, Aspen Humes (88) and Mylee Michel (92) hit the individual qualifying standard. Humes placed eighth overall.

Belle Sjostrom (101), Taylor Earnest (105) and Brooke Dietrich (109) rounded out the Jays’ five-man roster.

Abi Schneider of St. Mary’s was named WDA Senior Athlete of the Year and St. Mary’s Matt Mullally was named WDA Coach of the Year.
