North Simcoe Arts, formerly Orillia and District Arts Council, is pleased to help provide visual artwork to accompany the Lightfoot Days event “Memories of Gordon Lightfoot – Stories and Music”.

This event will take place at Creative Nomad on Friday, November 1st, from 7pm to 9pm. Creative Nomad is generously donating exhibition space in the gallery where the performance will take place. The event sponsor is Tim Corney Wealth Management. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.

Lightfoot Days organizers have contacted North Simcoe Arts to request artwork reflecting the themes of Gordon Lightfoot’s songs and a call for submissions has been issued. The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2024. Please contact MJ Pollak, (protected email) if you are interested in submitting.

Several exciting pieces have already been submitted, such as Enrique Bravo’s “If Children Had Wings,” pictured above, which was inspired by Lightfoot’s song of the same name.

Audiences attending “Memories of Gordon Lightfoot – Stories and Music” will be surrounded by beautiful artwork while listening to music and stories from legendary performer, Gordon Lightfoot.

This is an event not to be missed!
