ALPENA — The Wildcats varsity women’s swimming team faced the John Glenn Bobcats at home Tuesday, falling 53-111.

However, the evening was marked by remarkable individual performances and continued growth.

Despite the result, Wildcats head coach Jennifer Johnson expressed pride in the team’s development this season.

“While this is not a victory, the growth and development is evident in building a strong culture and successful program,” Johnson said in a statement. “The team has shown so much progress this season as they continue to set personal bests in every game. As coaches, we couldn’t be more proud of them and look forward to their continued efforts.”

The competition started off strong with Hailey Diemond and Gabriella Tolan posting personal bests in the 200-meter freestyle. Eva Trainer followed suit with a personal best in the 200-meter individual medley.
