Strong winds on the Irish Sea have led to the cancellation of evening and overnight ferry services between the Isle of Man and Lancashire.

The Manxman’s journey to Heysham at 19:45 BST and its return to Douglas at 02:15 have both been cancelled.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said sailings had been suspended due to “expected adverse weather conditions”.

The ship is then expected to sail on Thursday morning, leaving the Port of Douglas at 08:45 for Lancashire.

The evening departure of the Manannan fast boat from Liverpool to the island is still scheduled for 19:15 and arrival in Douglas is scheduled for 22:00.
