Semi-trailer catches fire in Nuevo, destroying part of the platform

A tractor-trailer caught fire Wednesday on the west end of Nuevo, consuming the trailer before crews brought it under control.

The fire, which caused no injuries, was reported shortly before 4 p.m. in the 26000 block of Emerett Lane in the Nuevo Hills area, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding properties and had it completely under control less than 30 minutes later.
