At this point, Arsenal fans will still be reeling from the news that Ben White has suffered a knee injury that now requires a procedure.

White underwent minor surgery on his kneeone that still has the Arsenal defender missing for an extended period of time.

Maybe that could open the door for Jurrien Timber or… Takehiro Tomiyasu regularly play on the right, depending on the extent to which the latter becomes fit.

A fully fit Tomiyasu is arguably as good as White on the right, but it feels like it’s been so long since the Japan international was firing on all cylinders.

Injuries aside, White has taken a second lately interview to praise both Tomiyasu and his captain Martin Odegaard.

White reflected on what he has learned from some of his Arsenal teammates and admitted that he actually looks up to Tomiyasu, which could be good news considering the aforementioned injury.

White said: “You try to take bits and pieces from a lot of different players when you start, but actually I still do that now.

“There are a few players in our squad that I look up to. Tomiyasu for example – he does crazy things!

“The drills and things he does to prepare are just so different from anything I’ve known before in football.

“Martin Odegaard is also a good example of how he trains. He always gets massages, takes a cold bath and makes the most of it.

“His preparation and professionalism are great.”

When will Ben White return from his knee injury?

At the moment it is unclear when White will be ready to return to Arsenal.

Some reports expect it to take around six to eight weeks before the defender is ready for matches, while others point to the idea of ​​White playing through the pain barrier again.

Basically, it’s all rumors at this point until the club or Mikel Arteta provide a final update.

Either way, Arsenal will need others to step up, and it really is time for Tomiyasu to prove the club right despite all their patience.
