Paul George’s tough message to LA Clippers fans goes viral

Paul George’s tough message to LA Clippers fans goes viral

Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George spent five seasons with the LA Clippers before signing a four-year, $212 million contract with Philly this offseason. When George faced his former team for the first time at Intuit Dome, he had some thoughts about how fans received him.

“I mean, it sucks,” George said of the booing. “I was a free agent. It wasn’t something I was demanding a trade for or going against the team… There were cheers. I appreciate them. Those were the ones I played hard for. The booing, I didn’t understand it. I still don’t get it when I go to Indy. But it is what it is.”

The Clippers’ special fan section, “The Wall” in the Intuit dome, had messages for George throughout the game, including one telling him to think before he spoke.

This was in reference to comments George made on his Podcast P-show after leaving the team.

George responded with a tough message for Clippers fans on the latest episode of his podcast.

“What did I say was wrong?” George asked. “I didn’t call the Clippers ‘the B team.’ I said it felt like the B-team… But they proved me right. They’re not unpacking the Intuit Dome. That’s where you come home… Go f–king, support them.”

George’s message to his former fan base is going viral on social media. This isn’t the first time the nine-time NBA All-Star has spoken out about the lack of fans inside Intuit Dome.

“It was awesome,” George said of Intuit Dome as he stood in the visitor’s locker room. “I wish it had been a little fuller. I wasn’t too concerned about this becoming the Clippers’ own product.”

George didn’t understand why Clippers fans were booing him and had more words for his former fan base on Wednesday’s podcast episode.
