High school equivalency sessions offered at CALC in Casper

Those looking to obtain their high school equivalency certificate can do so on October 8, 10 or 16. The Lee and Felicia Castellow Adult Learning Center at Casper College will host all eight sessions.

The first two sessions will take place on Tuesday, October 8 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The next three sessions will take place on Thursday, October 10 at 9 a.m. and 1 or 6 p.m. The last three sessions will take place on Wednesday October 10. .16, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. or 6 p.m.

CALC requires all students who wish to work toward their high school equivalency certificate through the CALC program to attend one of eight sessions.

For those who are not high school graduates, ages 25 and older, the median income is $726 per week, compared to $916 per week for high school graduates. This means that high school graduates will earn $9,880 more per year than those without a high school diploma, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections, as of July 17, 2024.

The service is free and open to the public. Preparation for high school equivalency includes social studies, science, language arts, reading, writing, and mathematics.

In addition to high school equivalency preparation, CALC offers ESL courses, and every student wishing to continue their education will receive help finding a college and even a career path.

All sessions will take place at CALC. Those wishing to attend one of the two information sessions on October 8 are asked to confirm their attendance before Monday, October 7. Those wishing to attend one of the three information sessions on October 10 are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, October 9. Those wishing to attend one of the three information sessions on October 16 are asked to confirm their attendance by Tuesday, October 15.
