WITNESSES appeal after attempted murder in Greenock town center

Detectives are treating the attack on a young man in Greenock as an attempted murder.

The 21-year-old was found injured in West Blackhall Street just after midnight.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

West Blackhall Street, in Jamaica Street, Greenock, is currently closed while investigations are carried out.

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan said: “We are seeking any witnesses who were in the area at the time of this incident to contact police.

“In addition, anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage from around this time that could help us with our inquiries is asked to come forward.”
