Noise Buds N1 Pro earbuds review: Logical upgrade over Buds N1

The budget TWS earbuds market is fiercely competitive, with brands vying for market share with each new release. Brands like Noise, Boat and others often throw their hats in the ring with their affordable offerings. Noise‘s latest contender, the Buds N1 Pro, aims to stand out in this crowded space with a tag of Rs 1,799 and impressive quality at this price point.
Tea Noise Buds N1 Pro are essentially the higher-end variant of the Buds N1, which we found offering a balance of features and audio quality in our review. Can the Pro version impress as much as its sibling, let’s dive into our full review to find out.

Design

Noise Buds N1 Pro has a similar footprint as the Noise Buds N1 with some cosmetic changes to the charging case. The case has rounded corners that makes it easy to hold and the compact design makes it easily pocketable, even in tight jeans. The case has a soft touch and is slippery. The earbuds, on the other hand, have soft-pointed corners and have a flat stem design. Each earbud has an LED indicator – similar to what we have seen in the non-pro variant.

The earbuds sport an in-ear design and they securely sit in the ear canal. The earphones do not protrude much, and are lightweight enough to be used for longer hours without any fatigue or discomfort. The passive noise cancellation is effective, reducing light chatter in a busy newsroom environment. Despite the use of soft plastic, the build quality feels solid for the price point.

Audio quality and performance

Noise Buds N1 Pro earphones feature the same 11mm drivers as the non-pro model. The output is decent but it’s a bit bass-heavy. The earphones are tuned to sound well enough to play a bunch of genres without distortion.
The vocals and trebles are cleanly separated from the punchy bass when listening to Bollywood music. For example, we listened to Tauba-Tauba and it sounded pretty neat. Despite the heavy bass, the vocals are clear with minimal bass overpowering.

While listening to bass-heavy tracks like “Sippin” by Aortaa, there was a slight loss of clarity, but the bass didn’t overpower or distort the vocals.
The audio quality while streaming movies was impressive, with clear sound separation and movement. Although it might not be as immersive as premium, high-priced options, it definitely does a good job given the price point.
The 40ms response time ensures quick synchronization between audio and visuals, which is beneficial for both movies and gaming experiences like BGMI or CoD Mobile. Using the earphones at high volumes led to sound bleeding. Lowering the volume to around 80% improves clarity and eliminates sound bleed.

Call quality is satisfactory and we faced slight problems in noisy environments. Overall, the earphones get the job done. Connectivity is not an issue and the quick pairing feature allowed us to start using these earphones in 2 minutes after unboxing.
The earbuds also support slide and touch gestures. Swiping up on the left reduces the volume and the right one does the exact opposite. Double tap is to control music playback.

Battery

Noise claims the earbuds provide 60 hours of playtime (40 hours for the non-pro model) on a single charge. After using the earphones for 5-6 hours a day over the course of a week, we still had some battery remaining. Our experience aligned closely with the company’s battery claims.
Also, the total time it takes to charge from 0 to 100% is around an hour and half. Also, it supports fast charging where we got around 30 minutes of listening time with 5 minutes of charge.

Verdict

The Noise Buds N1 Pro earphones are an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers seeking a blend of decent features and audio quality in their true wireless earbuds. Priced at Rs 1,799, the pair of earphones offers an impressive battery life and a design that provides them a distinct identity on the crowded affordable TWS earphones segment. If your primary needs are music playback across multiple genres, the Buds N1 are among the perfect options for you.
While audiophiles or those seeking top-tier noise cancellation might want to look elsewhere, these earbuds offer a solid value proposition for everyday use. Their comfortable fit and unique design further add to their appeal, making them a worthy contender in the budget TWS earbuds market.
