Strictly Star Tasha Ghouri’s Previous Dancing Experience Revealed

After her impressive Cha Cha in week one, Tasha Ghouri has become one of the favorites for the coveted Glitterball trophy. The reality star made history as Strictly’s second deaf contestant and is partnered with returning favorite Aljaž Škorjanec.

Taking to Instagram after their performance, one fan said: “Dance of the night for me so far! Amazing.”

“They did so well!! What a fantastic dance,” agreed a second.

While Tasha, 26, is best known for her appearance in the eighth season of love islandnot to mention her modeling career, she also comes from a dance background. As a result, some fans suggested that this gave him an unfair advantage in the competition. Strictly choreographer Maria Tsiatsiana has since disputed these claims.

“You have to learn choreography and dance with a professional dancer – and all of our pros are the best in the business – and then you have to dance under so much pressure. So if you’ve taken five ballet classes, ten or zero, all the world is up to the same playing field this Saturday night and in the rehearsal studio,” she said. The Sun.

Tasha’s Dance Experience

Born in North Yorkshire, Tasha began taking ballet lessons from a young age, before training at the Creative Academy in Slough. She also participated in competitions.

Before his big debut on Strictlythe 26-year-old stressed that she hadn’t danced for a few years and clarified that the world of ballroom dancing is completely different from the commercial one.

“Commercial dancing is very different from ballroom dancing and Latin, I still have to undress and relearn, even walking in the pas cha cha feels weird – you have to turn your feet and lead with your hips, so it’s based on muscle memory,” she said The Independent. “Even letting a man take the lead is a lot.”

Strictly correct complaints

Fans noted that besides Tasha, former JLS dancer JB Gill enjoyed an advantage after years of dancing in numerous music videos and touring with his bandmates.

JB Gill also comes from a dance background having spent years touring with JLS.

During the first week of StrictlyJB topped the leaderboard with a score of 31, following his Waltz with Amy Dowden. JB, 37, also won the Strictly Christmas Special before, taking first place in 2012.

Layton Williams hit with ‘redress’ claims in 2023

In 2023, Layton Williams faced similar claims, with fans suggesting his background in musical theater made the competition unfair. His stint on Strictly came a year after Layton completed a three-year stint in the West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
