About the film:

“He slid into her DMs” is inspired by the true story of a high school senior social media influencer whose stalker showed up at her door with a gun after she blocked him online. In the film, 17-year-old Berni’s life seems perfect: She’s popular, goes to NYU in the fall, and is an emerging social media influencer. But behind his perfect facade, Berni’s life is a complete disaster. Her best friend betrays her, she struggles to gain more followers, and her boyfriend Zack dumps her. Heartbroken, Berni begins a friendship with Mason, one of her online fans, and agrees to sell him private “fan photos.” After Berni and Zack get back together, Berni tries to break up with Mason, but things turn deadly.
