Human skeleton discovered after 30 years of alleged murder

Hathras Shock: Police have discovered a human skeleton in a house in Hathras, where a man was allegedly killed by his two sons 30 years ago. They have sent the skeleton for forensic analysis and are preparing to file a case against brothers Pradeep Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, their mother and another person.

Punjabi Singh is from Giloundpur village. He is one of the four sons of Buddha Ram. According to him, the day before his father disappeared, he heard that the two older brothers were fighting with their father again at night.

Then aged nine, Punjabi Singh remembers sharing a bed with his father as a child. “One night,” he says, “my two older brothers in their twenties and an elderly man came in here and ordered me to go out and sleep there.”

“I couldn’t sleep that night, so I went out to check. That’s when I heard my brothers arguing with my father in a room. I got scared and hid in a corner,” Singh told PTI on Saturday. Singh saw a newly dug ditch in the porch of the house the next morning.

“I first told my elder brother about the incident. During this conversation, I began to become suspicious of the connection between my two older brothers and the disappearance of my father,” he added.

The investigation was closed eight years ago

Singh said he had also filed the same complaint with the police eight years ago; however, the officer in charge closed the investigation by stating that it was a property dispute.

On Thursday, a team of police and forensic experts searched the porch of his ancestral house and found the skeletal remains.
