Western Railway mega block: Why commuters should leave home early this week

Western Railway commuters may have to leave home early throughout the week due to speed restrictions and service cancellations.

A tweet posted by Western Railway on social media platform ‘X’ on Sunday evening talks about a giant block in the intervening night of September 30 to October 1, 2024.

The block will be carried out on the ‘Up And Down’ fast lines at Goregaon and the ‘Up And Down’ fast and slow lines at Malad to facilitate the construction of the sixth railway line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations.

Announcements regarding the blockade are also made at regular intervals at stations.

Although some reports suggest that speed restrictions will also be imposed between Malad and Ram Mandir stations on all four lines, the railways has not officially confirmed the same.

Western Railway has also published a list of trains which will be canceled during the day on Monday.
