Crash in Waukegan: Jorge Carmona identified as teen killed while riding bicycle near Belvidere Road and Fulton Avenue

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) — A teenager was killed while riding his bicycle in the northern suburbs last weekend, according to police.

The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Belvidere Road and Fulton Avenue, Waukegan police said.

The 17-year-old was cycling when he was hit by a car on the road.

Waukegan police said the driver did not remain at the scene.

When police arrived, they found the teen unconscious. He died on the spot.

He was later identified as Jorge Carmona of Waukegan by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Waukegan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit.
