Star ‘offers’ itself to the Euro giant to spark a bidding war; ‘excellent relationship’ a key factor

Star ‘offers’ itself to the Euro giant to spark a bidding war; ‘excellent relationship’ a key factor

Victor Lindelof is already planning a life away from Manchester United and has offered his services to Juventus despite rival interest from AC Milan, a report has revealed.

The Italian press claims that Lindelof ‘offered himself’ to Juventus after hearing that the Bianconeri need defensive reinforcements. Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal are both injured, significantly weakening the options available to manager Thiago Motta.

Amid their injury problems, Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been inundated with messages and calls from agents about possible solutions.

According to TuttosportGiuntoli is in discussions with Lindelof’s entourage about a possible move to the versatile Man Utd defender.

The report adds that Giuntoli has an ‘excellent relationship’ with those representing Lindelof, HCM Sports Management, which should aid negotiations.

Giuntoli and HCM previously worked on Denis Zakaria’s €20 million move from Juve to Monaco in August 2023.

Giuntoli and his fellow Juve chiefs are currently considering whether to enter into talks with United Lindelof.

The centre-back, who can also play as a wing-back, falls outside the ideal age profile as he is 30 years old.

However, Tuttosport stating that Juve are attracted by the fact that Lindelof will be available cheaply. His contract with United expires at the end of the season, meaning he could either leave on a reduced fee in January or on a free transfer in the summer.

Victor Lindelof’s race is heating up

Juve may have to enter a bidding war to sign the Swedish star. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now an advisor to Milan, would like to be the first to sign his compatriot.

That became apparent last week Milan is ready to start talks for Lindelof. It will be interesting to see which Italian heavyweight the player joins should a move away from Old Trafford become a reality.

Lindelof originally joined United from Benfica in July 2017. In total he played 266 games for the Red Devils and won medals in the FA Cup and League Cup.

But Lindelof has fallen down the pecking order this season, making just seven appearances so far. He is unlikely to feature in the first team again under new boss Ruben Amorim, which would mean a likely departure.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku has been told he would be ‘crazy’ to swap Chelsea for United now that the Enzo Maresca project is working.

United have been tipped to initiate shock talks for Nkunku amid claims he is unhappy with his playing time at Chelsea.

But expert Glen Johnson has warned the attacker against such a move – you can read what he had to say here.

Amorim is expected to look for a new left-back at United due to the long injury spells that have affected Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

United have been offered the chance to sign Danilo when his contract with Juve expires at the end of the season, although Amorim has reportedly turned down the move.
