Netgear announces new WiFi 7 products starting at $499

Netgear continues the rollout of its WiFi 7 networking product with the launch today of three new solutions for excellent home WiFi.

All three products bring new accessibility to WiFi 7, with the Nighthawk RS200 costing just $499.

“NETGEAR’s latest Nighthawk RS600 and RS200 routers and Orbi 770 mesh system allow more homes to access the benefits of WiFi 7 connectivity while also providing robust network security to protect their homes and digital lives.

WiFi 7 is the latest generation WiFi technology delivering speeds 2.4x faster than WiFi 6, enabling networks to keep up with the growing demands of modern gadgets and technology.

The new range is complemented by a new WiFi 7 Mesh system – the Orbi 770 Tri-Band, which promises potential network speeds of up to 11Gbps and connecting up to 100 devices across 540 square meters on the pack of three (router and two satellites).

Orbi 770 combines the 5GHz and 6GHz bands for connected devices and backhaul, while the WAN/Internet port is capable of 2.5GB, ready for the next generation NBN speeds to come.

This new Orbi system has a slim cylindrical shape, more rounded than the 970 series for a sleeker look, designed to sit on any desk or shelf in your home.

Inside are four high-performance antennas with amplifiers providing 360-degree coverage.

Orbi 770 also has a nifty little WiFi preamble to selectively block interference and provide a more stable connection.

In addition to the Orbi, two standalone routers are part of the Nighthawk product line. The RS600 and RS200 are designed for speed, low latency and capacity, as well as a secure back-end router.

They follow the design of the Nighthawk WiFi 7 RS700S tri-band router with a tall chassis and omnidirectional internal antennas.
