With High Potential Already Taking a Hiatus on ABC, Here's What to Expect When Kaitlin Olson's New Drama Returns

She’s been successful so far, but ABC is skipping a new episode this week after only two airings. Read on to find out why, when the next episode will air, and what to expect.

Why top prospect Kaitlin Olson is taking a break

If you became a fan of High potential with the Always sunny actress after just two episodes, there’s no need to worry that ABC is already abandoning the series and pulling it from primetime. If no new episodes are planned for Tuesday, October 1, it is for a simple reason: the vice-presidential debate between Democratic candidate Tim Walz and Republican candidate JD Vance. The debate begins at 9 p.m. ET and will continue until High potentialThe 10 p.m. time slot.

And ABC is certainly not alone among the major broadcast networks in raising its usual rate to air the debate instead. In fact, the only new episode of a freshman TV show airing Tuesday night will be The fox Murder in a small town with Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, and it’s at 8 p.m. ET, before the debate begins!

It is also normal for regular programming to be supplanted during the pre-election season; THE the same thing happened with America’s Got Talent and other broadcasts when Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris debated Republican Donald Trump in early September. If you’d still rather watch Kaitlin Olson solve crimes as Morgan than debate, the first two episodes of High potential currently broadcast with a Hulu Subscription.

What to expect from high potential returns

ABC doesn’t wait too long to bring High potential back after the vice presidential debate. You can count on seeing the third episode of season 1 on Tuesday, October 8 in the usual 10 p.m. ET time slot. Titled “Dirty Rotten Scoundrel,” ABC’s episode description previews this:

Morgan’s intelligence and cleaning experience come in handy when detectives are called to the scene of a hotel room murder, ultimately discovering the victim’s many inconveniences. Morgan navigates Ava’s dating life while Soto reveals details about Roman’s disappearance.

New details about Roman’s disappearance seem pretty interesting to me after last episode ended with Soto confirming to Morgan (and an eavesdropping Ava) that he hadn’t abandoned them all those years ago after all. It seems a safe bet that High potential I won’t solve the huge mystery until the end of the season – even that soon – but I’m ready for more clues.
