Neighbors has revealed iconic character Shane Ramsay is returning to Erinsborough – and he will be accompanied by a new family member.

The soap’s official Instagram account shared a snap of new character Max, who is part of Neighbors’ “original family” and will make his on-screen debut in the coming weeks.

“After 10 years, a Ramsay is back on Ramsay Street!” » says the legend. “We are thrilled to announce that Ben Jackson will soon be joining the cast as Max Ramsay.

Neighbors stars Lucinda Armstrong Hall, Matt Wilson and Majella Davis were among those sharing their excitement about the casting news on Instagram.

Shortly after Max’s casting was revealed, the soap shared another post revealing that original character Shane would also be returning to Ramsay Street.

“Shane Ramsay returns! Following in the footsteps of his son, Max – Shane Ramsay will also be visiting Erinsborough,” the post read.

“Peter O’Brien will reprise his iconic role in the coming weeks.”

The post was accompanied by a photo of the two actors standing side by side, smiling: will their on-screen relationship be as harmonious?

While Max is a new character for the soap, Shane has a long history on Ramsay Street.

He made his debut in the first episode of the soap in 1985 and spent two years in Erinsborough, during which he was involved in two car accidents – the first leaving him with a life-altering back injury and the second left him facing manslaughter charges. , which were abandoned after the appearance of a witness.

Shane left Erinsborough in 1987 to travel to Australia. He made a return for the final episode of Neighbors in 2022 (before the soap was revived by Amazon Freevee), during which it was revealed that he had made his fortune through cryptocurrency.
