DeRidder man charged with murder; accused of murdering 72-year-old neighbor

DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) – An indictment was returned today against the suspect accused of murdering a 72-year-old DeRidder man.

Terry Houston, 62, was charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

On June 24, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office found David Young, 72, dead at his home on Tabernacle Road. Investigators said he showed signs of blunt force trauma and stab wounds.

Authorities determined that Houston, a nearby resident, was a person of interest and was arrested for questioning.

After collecting interviews and evidence, officers determined that Houston had gone to Young’s home that morning, where the two had an altercation that led to Young’s death.
