Inter Milan and Italy Star of EURO 2024: “Voices from outside want to destabilize us but we are a united group”

Inter Milan defensive stalwart Alessandro Bastoni praised the team’s unity after a fantastic 4-0 UEFA Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade.

During his post-match interview, as reported by FCInterNews, the Italy international revealed that “outside voices” cannot disrupt the chemistry inside the Nerazzurri dressing room.

“There is great confidence in everyone, the team was built for that, and there are no starters or reserves,” Bastoni quickly emphasized after the victory.

“We see it in the management of the coach, in each match he changes the players and that’s what we have to do,” he continued.

After several disappointing defensive performances in Serie A, Inter have returned to their best in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

The same resilience that guided Simone Inzaghi’s side to a goalless draw at Manchester City paved the way for a thumping victory against Red Star.

Alessandro Bastoni was one of the standout faces of Inter’s impregnable defense on Tuesday.

Bastoni confirms that the team has trusted the substitute duo to deliver at the highest level.

“We were sure of Mehdi and Marko’s performance. They have great quality and give us a helping hand even when they are not playing in a group.

“There is a lot of confidence in the group.”

However, the Inter star does not want to get carried away by just one victory. Instead, he wants to keep his feet on the ground.

“There are six matches remaining and we know that each one is decisive,” he said.

“We are happy with today’s result because the goal difference also counts. Scoring a lot of goals is important.

“We are satisfied with the performance.”

The 25-year-old discussed the importance of prolificacy in the final third.

Furthermore, Bastoni insists that Inter always play to win, regardless of the competition.

“The desire to win is always the same, in any type of competition. The coach helps us a lot because he keeps us going.

“It is physiologically important to have rest periods. We are heading towards increasingly difficult football, with 70 matches per season.
