Today’s episode started right after this announcement as Yolande struggled to understand the news, while the agent assured her that it wasn’t her fault.

Later, Patrick finds Yolande, head in her hands, at the kitchen table, while she explains to him that in her quest for justice, she never wanted the pastor to die.

She didn’t want there to be hatred in his heart and was determined to pray for his soul, as she would for anyone who had committed suicide.

Sure enough, Yolande then got up from bed and said prayers for the pastor, even though it was very difficult for her.

Her restless night continued as she went downstairs to get a glass of water, but was interrupted by a knock on the door from Pastor Clayton’s wife, Stella.

She was upset by the evening’s events and didn’t know where to go, so Yolande allowed her to come in and talk.

In an emotional conversation, Stella apologized for previously asking Yolande to retract her statement and said she believed in her husband like she believed in God.

She revealed that Pastor Clayton sent her a voice note before he committed suicide, but she didn’t feel strong enough to listen to it alone.

Yolande agreed to listen to it with her, in the hope that he would get rid of the message.

But in a devastating twist, the pastor remained firm in his stance, saying: “I simply cannot countenance allegations that are not true. You know I am completely and utterly innocent. »

Stella was inconsolable, and Yolande later said that because she had pushed so hard for the truth, Pastor Clayton would never again admit to what he had done.

What will Yolande do now?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on BBC One. The show is also broadcast on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes are shown early at 6am before their television broadcast.
