Truck hauling vegetables catches fire on I-78 in Hunterdon County

A tractor-trailer hauling vegetables caught fire on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County Wednesday afternoon, temporarily closing a portion of the highway.

New Jersey State Police say the fire started around 12:40 pm in Union Township. It was not clear how the fire started, but no injuries were reported.

As of 3:41 p.m., the New Jersey Department of Transportation says that two right lanes west of Exit 13 are closed while cleanup takes place.
