Trash catches fire inside garbage truck in Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, CT (WFSB) – Trash caught fire on the back of a garbage truck in Wethersfield on Thursday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to Dix Road.

They said the driver dumped the burning trash on the street, which protected the truck.

Firefighters extinguished the burning debris.

There were no injuries and the truck was not damaged, they said.

The town’s physical services department helped the trash company with clean up on the road.
