A Cal football legend will appear on College Game Day this Saturday.

Marshawn Lynch, who played for the Golden Bears from 2004 to 2006, will be the guest Match day this week as the show heads to Berkley for the first time ever for a game between Cal and No. 8 Miami.

After the show announced Lynch’s appearance, he called on Cal fans to show up bright and early at Memorial Glade on Cal’s campus.

“YesLawd. Get to Memorial Glade early…” he wrote in a post on in the morning The show is We live at 6 a.m., so we on the team don’t sleep, straight from your party, to campus, ready to go in there.

YesLawd. Arrive early at your Memorial Glade home…And when I say early this time, I mean hello early!!! The pit opens at 3:30 a.m., yeah, morning. The show is live at 6 a.m., so we as a team don’t sleep, straight from your party, straight to campus, ready to receive it. https://t.co/zKuKd4MPpX

Lynch had an outstanding tenure at Cal, recording 3,230 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns during his three seasons. Beyond his solid play on the field, Lynch has become a favorite among Golden Bears fans, and his eccentric personality will be on full display in front of his fans on Saturday.

Cal has struggled for much of the last decade, but has seen a slight resurgence to start the 2024 season. The Bears won their first three games of the year, including one against Auburn, before losing a game to Florida State last week.

In front of Lynch and the rest of a pro-Cal crowd, the Bears will be looking for a big upset against Miami this week.
