The Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) hopes a $10,000 reward and the release of photos of an SUV will help homicide detectives find out who killed a man in April.

BSO said that around 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting victim at 1200 SW 11th Way in Deerfield Beach.

Broward Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded to the scene where they found Bobby Abernathy II in a parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Abernathy was transported to Broward Health North Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Deputies say later that day, doctors pronounced Abernathy dead.

Deputies say after Abernathy’s death, the BSO homicide unit began investigating.

BSO investigators released a photo of a light-colored SUV believed to be involved in the homicide.
