I have an idea of what emotion should be introduced in Inside Out 3, and I need to talk about it

When it comes to Movies 2024it seems quite indisputable that Inside Out 2 is going to go down in history as one of the best of the year, in addition, of course, to being a huge success at the box office. And as we know, when a movie does that rare thing of pleasing fans and studio executives, there’s a good chance a sequel will follow. But in terms of see a third Upside down movienot only am I absolutely on board with taking another trip into Riley’s mind, but I have an idea on what emotion should be emphasized next.

So far, Upside down found ways to talk about what it means to grow up in universal ways, first when Riley moved with her family at age eleven before hitting puberty at age 13. The first film centrally discusses the emotion of sadness and how this emotion is actually important to feel rather than suppress. Then the the rest enters into the arrival of anxiety and how, when it takes hold, it can impact self-perception. What should be the next step? As Riley moves forward into adolescence, I’d like to see how Pixar addresses the complex ways in which fall in love impacts the brain and our emotions.

Why I think Inside Out 3 should explore Riley’s first teenage love

A bit like anxiety comes out of nowhere Inside Out 2I think Pixar could have so much fun imagining what would encapsulate “romantic love” or perhaps in the form of “passion” as an emotion that manifests itself, perhaps when Riley develops a crush on one of his peers. Because once you have a huge crush or first love, you may feel like your brain chemistry isn’t the same afterward.

Although it doesn’t always happen in adolescence, I think everyone can think that someone in their high school was the love of their life, that they only attracted glances from all over the class every the days he had a full-fledged relationship. Since the Upside down movies often take place over a short period of time, I imagine it’s about a summer camp crush that brings Riley out of her depths of emotion because it’s new to her.

When romantic passion first arises (and please, some of you get your heads out of the gutter, I’m totally thinking in PG terms), it can really mess with all your emotions in a way that changes truly your life. I can already imagine the kind of fun chaos this could create for the emotions we’ve already encountered in Riley’s mind. I just imagine this fuchsia pink character, perhaps voiced by a particularly charismatic actor like Pedro Pascal or Margot Robbie, who simply exudes romance and cool.

Once Riley develops this crazy crush in reality, Passion will appear and have her tripping over her words and idolizing those who attract the character’s heart (and wouldn’t it be funny if this emotion literally had heart eyes?! ) Are you starting to understand my vision here?

This could also make for another milestone trip for joy

Even though Riley talks about every emotion in her brain, Amy Poehler’s Joy has always been the centerpiece. I think it’s because Joy is what we’re all ultimately looking for. I am particularly interested in Inside Out 2 exploring passion because of how the emotion is so aligned with the emotion of joy. Anyone who has been in love knows that when you are in the throes of love and romance, you can feel like the other person is the source of your joy and is actually fueling that emotion in a deeper way.

It’s fascinating in the world of Upside downas up until now, Joy has been rather distant when it comes to other emotions like sadness and anxiety before addressing them at the end of the films. However, when Passion comes to town, I feel like Joy must instantly become attached to Passion and experience her own love affair with the emotion itself. They go so hand in hand, I think it would be so interesting to see Joy abandon all other emotions for Passion as they team up to take the wheel.

Of course, anxiety would have a chance to play a big role here, as first love and love in general are great at triggering this, along with embarrassment and a few others, but I’d like to see how passion and joy become higher quality emotions. Upside down character and deepens the world of these films.

Inside Out 2 emotions

It’s a more complex subject, but as she grows, so should Riley’s emotions.

While the idea of Passion being part of Upside down 3 is very interesting to me, it is a subject that deserves love and attention due to the complexity of the subject itself. However, I think if Riley was, say, 15, Pixar could have some fun with this, because the stakes would be both lower and accessible to people.

Passion can take many forms, from toxicity to healthy levels that could definitely be explored, and Pixar should be careful about how it represents passion to a wide audience. That being said, that’s another thing about the potential of Upside down 3 It excites me. I like the idea of the animation studio building on its concept by tackling more complex emotions as Riley gets older, because that’s literally what happens in our brains as we age.

The only potential problem I see with this idea is how to make it universal. For example, fans of The LGBTQ+ community has had theories about Riley’s sexuality Since her relationship with Val could be interpreted as a crush to some, the gender she falls for makes it more specific in a way. However, I personally think that gender wouldn’t matter, because we could still relate to the experience of first love if Pixar maintained the broad storytelling that makes us love and empathize with it so much.

Ah, young love! I want to see how the emotions of Upside down would take care of it. While you think about my idea, you can stream both Upside down films at the moment with a Disney+ subscription and I look forward to it Upside down Disney+ TV show this December.
