King Charles has expressed his sympathy and sadness to former US President Joe Biden following the devastating Hurricane Helena.

In a tweet shared by the British Embassy on Friday, October 4, the monarch expressed sadness at the tragedy caused by the natural disaster that struck parts of Florida.

“As the cleanup from devastating Hurricane Helena continues, King Charles sent a message of condolences to President Joe Biden, expressing sadness and sympathy for the tragic loss of life,” the tweet read .

“He also praised the courage of the rescuers in incredibly difficult times. »

Helene was a Category 4 storm when it hit near Perry, Florida on Thursday, September 26.

At least 200 people were killed by the hurricane following devastating wind gusts as well as “catastrophic, life-threatening (and) record-breaking” flooding in many areas.

The highest terrain in the southeastern Appalachians would have been most affected by flooding.

Emergency teams have been working around the clock to carry out rescue missions as hundreds more remain missing, according to reports. NBC News.
