Shemar Moore has a two-word response for fans after SWAT was canceled and then not canceled, and I'm right there with him

CRUSH is gearing up for a return to the 2024 TV schedule with season 8 after it was canceled for the second time. When the CBS procedural was canceled last year, the series was picked up for a final seventh season consisting of 13 episodes. Shemar Moore was optimistic that another season would happen, and keeping that hope alive seemed like a good idea as Season 8 finally got the green light. Now, to describe that feeling, Moore shared two words to describe how he feels, and I stand with him.

CBS’ delayed premiere week is fast approaching, and to prepare, the network released a fun video (via TV Insider) of the cast previewing upcoming seasons of their shows. Fans got a brief glimpse of the eighth season of CRUSH courtesy of Moore, and he explained what it’s like to be back for season 8 with two words:

I am grateful.

While it’s not entirely uncommon for a show to be saved from cancellation, as many shows have either been picked up by another network or even taped by one’s own network, SWAT. the situation is rare. Indeed, in addition to this second cancellation, CBS renewed it for a full season of 22 episodes. So yes, “grateful” is the most appropriate word to describe this.

In July, when production started CRUSH In season 8, Moore reflected on her return from cancellation twice, telling her Instagram followers that they fought the good fight and won. The series may look a little different after the departures of Alex Russell and Kenny Johnson last season, but it will still be exciting to see 20-Squad back in action. There’s a reason CBS changed its mind not once but twice, and it’s still crazy to think about.

In addition to her response to still being on the air, Moore also teased the new cast members. It is difficult to predict how CRUSH will evolve with new characters, including one played by Chicago Fire alum Annie Ilonzeh, but that’s what will make it even more fun to watch. It’s also possible that Russell and Johnson could return later, especially after showrunner Andrew Dettmann shared an unexpected update from Street and Chris regarding their potential on-screen marriage. Regardless, the simple fact that CRUSH is back, that’s great news, and I can’t wait to see what they have planned.

CRUSH has proven time and time again that he deserves to stay on the air, and seeing him return for season 8 will be as entertaining as ever. So get ready, folks, because this exciting season we’re all grateful for premieres Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
