‘Swamp People’ Star Caught in Sting: ‘I Also Got a Speeding Ticket Last Month’

“Swamp People” star Troy Landry has been charged with two counts of “failing to tag an alligator when it was captured,” according to a WAFB report.

The famed alligator hunter, 64, according to a Wildlife and Fisheries (LDFW) incident report, was cited following an undercover sting. Landry was cited for having a mislabeled alligator and the alligator dead. Each is punishable by a fine of up to $950 and imprisonment of up to 120 days.

“I also got a speeding ticket last month, but I have nothing to say about that,” Landry told WAFB-TV.

According to WAFB, officers received reports of people hunting alligators in Palourde Lake without permission to hunt in that area. Two officers monitored the area for six hours until they spotted Landry and two other people, including “an unidentified cameraman.” arrive in the region by boat.

Landry, it was later determined, had permission to hunt on the property, but he did not have appropriate alligator tags, according to the report.
