The most interesting question from Wednesday night’s pre-fight press conference in Irving, Texas, was who the 12 other fighters on stage think will win between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson on Friday night in nearby Arlington.

Nine chose Tyson, 58 years old. Three chose Paul. And that didn’t sit well with Paul. He challenged all the fighters who picked Tyson to bet with him.

Let’s see if Paul uses the insult as motivation to destroy Tyson, who is 31 years older than Paul, “The Problem Child,” on Friday night. And if Paul wins, let’s see if he can cash in on the various bets he’s made with the other fighters his promotional company has booked who have essentially turned on him despite the odds of being extended.

‘He says he’s going to kill me. Is that what you’re going to do, Mike?’ said Paul. ‘Because I’m ready. I want that killer. I want the hardest possible match on Friday night. I don’t want there to be any excuses from everyone at home when I knock him out.”

But knocking out Tyson, which seems hard to imagine, probably won’t stop Paul’s many critics from pointing out that Paul didn’t fight a real combat sports professional in his prime. And that clearly irritates Paul, who should be taken at least somewhat seriously as a fighter because he got in the ring, knocked people out and won.

Tyson had very little say in the planned eight-round, two-minute-per-round fight. His answers were either a few words long or he did not respond to questions.

“I’m just ready to fight. I said everything I wanted to say,” Tyson said.

“I’m not going to lose.”

The Amanda Serrano-Katie Taylor fight between two women’s champions could be even more intriguing than the main event. It precedes Tyson-Paul.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight prediction

Tyson takes this seriously and while losing won’t affect his legacy and his status as one of boxing’s GOATs, it’s hard to imagine him keeping up with Paul’s youth, mobility and hand speed. Tyson may not have that one-punch knockout ability anymore, even though he trained hard for the fight. I don’t see Paul knocking out Iron Mike, but I don’t see Tyson going that far here considering his age. Paul via TKO.

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul odds
