A wonderful autumn weekend to enjoy the outdoors

A wonderful autumn weekend to enjoy the outdoors

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – We are already in the last weekend of October and the weather is approaching. While last weekend saw almost summer-like temperatures, this season will be cooler and more seasonable overall. There is no chance of any precipitation, just lots of sun. Winds will be on the lighter side today, but will be noticeably chilly on Sunday as southerly winds return. This will help bring temperatures back above average, so if your outdoor plans rely on warmer conditions, Sunday is your favorite day.

Further warming will occur early next week, strengthening southerly flow through the Upper Midwest. Temperatures will dip back into the unseasonably warm 70s on Monday and Tuesday, even flirting with daily records. This would add to what has already been a fairly warm month in the Chippewa Valley, with Eau Claire more than four degrees above average so far. Although we picked up some much-needed rain last Thursday evening, precipitation for the month remains well below average. We will have another chance to supplement these figures halfway through the week.
