Family of girl drugged by Lake Oswego man during sleepover sues for .4 million

CLACKAMAS COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – A lawsuit was filed Tuesday against a Lake Oswego couple after the man was convicted of drugging his daughter’s friends during a sleepover last year.

In August 2023, Lake Oswego police began an investigation after three 12-year-old girls went to the hospital. Police determined that during a sleepover with Michael Meyden and his ex-wife, they were given smoothies containing prescription tranquilizers.

In June, Meyden pleaded guilty to three charges of causing another person to ingest a controlled substance and was sentenced to two years in prison.

On November 12, the family of one of the victims filed a lawsuit in Clackamas County against Meyden and his ex-wife. They are seeking $2.4 million in damages for injuries, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and more.
