ESCANABA – Bay College is investigating a reported incident of discrimination and harassment.

President Nerita Hughes said the college was made aware Wednesday of a situation that occurred during a third-party event on the Escanaba campus. No details were given.

In a statement, Hughes said the investigation is being conducted in collaboration with Escanaba Public Safety.

“We are committed to providing a safe environment where everyone can learn, grow and thrive together, recognizing that a safe campus is fundamental to achieving our shared goals and strengthening our community.” said Hughes.

Those who believe they have been discriminated against, harassed or the target of violence at Bay College should report the incident to a staff member, on the online website or by calling 800-221-2001, the statement said.
