New nursing home opens in December

Chief Minister Alf Cannan says the island’s newest nursing home will open in December.

At the House of Keys this week he was asked about the new Summerhill View house on Victoria Road.

Mr Cannan said the house had cost a total of £11.7 million and a further £138,000 had been spent on fitting out and furnishing the building since February.

But he said the official opening is now in sight and residents will move in soon:
