Deadline approaches for Lahaina long-term recovery plan

Deadline approaches for Lahaina long-term recovery plan

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Time is running out to provide feedback on the long-term recovery plan following the Lahaina wildfires.

Friday, November 15 is the last day to provide input.

A draft plan includes forty projects covering community planning, economic recovery, health and social services, housing, infrastructure and natural and cultural resources.

Community members had the opportunity to ask county and state officials questions about the plan during two open houses in October, highlighting 20 of the projects.

The province says feedback from an online questionnaire and the open houses will be used to develop the final long-term recovery plan, which is expected to be released in late 2024.

The province also notes that the long-term recovery plan is a “living document” and will be open to changes as necessary.
