Walsall kitman and pitchside announcer accused of misconduct

Walsall kitman Dave Joyce and on-field announcer Simon Hill have been accused of misconduct by the Football Association following their match against Crewe Alexandra on November 9.

The pair were said to have acted in an “inappropriate manner” during stoppage time at the end of the League Two match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Joyce was sent off by referee Stephen Parkinson after a scuffle broke out when the ball went out of play near the dugouts at Poundland Bescot Stadium.

Crewe boss Lee Bell and Walsall defender Liam Gordon were shown yellow cards after the incident.

Joyce and Hill have until November 18 to respond to the charges.
