Pedestrian seriously injured, struck by MART bus at Fitchburg station

A pedestrian was transported to a trauma center after being struck by a bus at a Fitchburg station on Thursday, Fitchburg police told MassLive.

Around 7:48 a.m., Fitchburg police were notified of a pedestrian crash involving a Montachusett Regional Transit Authority, or MART, bus at 100 Main St., the police department’s public information officer Capt. Christopher Garcia told MassLive.

Emergency responders treated the pedestrian upon arrival. Due to the severity of the person’s injuries, they were airlifted to a trauma hospital, Garcia said.
