A magnitude 3.6 earthquake was reported Thursday near Pleasanton

The earthquake occurred about 11 miles east of Pleasanton

PLEASANTON, Texas – A magnitude 3.6 earthquake was reported Thursday near Pleasanton, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

USGS said the earthquake occurred around 12:03 a.m., about 11 miles east of the Atasocosa County community.

The depth of the earthquake was 13.2 miles, USGS said.

With this magnitude of earthquake, damage is unlikely.

The last earthquake reported in the San Antonio area was a Magnitude 3.4 earthquake in May near Falls City in Karnes County.

Thursday’s earthquake is one of several magnitude 2.5 or higher earthquakes reported this year.

The largest earthquake, a magnitude 4.7, occurred on February 17.
