Threats to twelve schools in New Orleans; suspects wanted

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans police are looking for multiple suspects involved in threats against several schools in the city.

A total of twelve schools have been threatened. The NOPD did not name any specific campuses.

The suspects, who have not yet been identified, are charged with terror.

Sophie B. Wright Charter School canceled classes Thursday (Nov. 14) after the school cited violent threats on social media Wednesday evening.

NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick spoke to reporters at a news conference Thursday afternoon. She said the students are safe and police are working to arrest everyone involved.

“It will absolutely not be tolerated, there will be consequences, and I will tell you that the person or persons responsible for this today and last night will be arrested,” Kirkpatrick said.

Sophie B. Wright school officials announced in a Facebook post that the school is monitoring the situation while ensuring the safety and well-being of its students.

Eleanor Mcmain, McDonough 35 and Warren Easton also received threats but did not cancel classes.
