Victim killed at Lake Charles apartment complex identified

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The 20-year-old man killed at a Lake Charles apartment Tuesday night was identified.

When Lake Charles police arrived, officers found Nyheim Papillion, 20, of Lake Charles, lying on the ground with multiple injuries outside the park at Winterhalter, formerly known as Sunlight Manor.

According to the initial report from Lake Charles police, Papillion was shot with a handgun.

Officers attempted to provide life-saving aid, but Papillion was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
