Maryland baseball announces its 2025 schedule

Maryland baseball released its 2025 schedule on Thursday. The Terps will play six teams that played in last year’s NCAA tournament and eight that finished in RPI’s top 75.

Maryland will not play a home non-conference series with the season opener in Charleston, South Carolina, during the Swig and Swine College Classic from Feb. 14-16. The Terps will play 22 home games and 33 road games.

The Terps will travel to Wake Forest from February 28 to March 6 for two games against Wake Forest and Princeton. The former finished last season with a 38-22 record and fell in the NCAA Regionals.

Maryland follows that with a midweek meeting against James Madison, the first of two in 2025. Last season, the Terps defeated the Dukes in their two games.

Maryland will also travel to Virginia for a midweek game against the Cavaliers on March 11. Virginia lost to Florida State in the College World Series.

The Terps will face Georgetown twice this season, which finished in the top 75 of the RPI last season. Maryland won two of three games against the Hoyas in 2024.

Big Ten play begins March 7 at home against UCLA. The game marks the Terps’ first meeting against the Bruins since beating them in California during the 2015 NCAA Regionals.

It is one of three series against newcomers to the conference. Their second is from March 21 to 23 in Washington. The Terps faced the Huskies in the Kleberg Bank College Classic last season and lost 6-5.

Oregon plays April 11-13 in College Park for the school’s opening meet. The Ducks finished 40-20 in 2024 and ranked No. 40 in RPI.

Maryland also has series against Illinois, Indiana and Nebraska, all of which finished the year in RPI’s top 75. The Terps face Penn State May 2-4 in University Park, Pennsylvania, after the Nittany Lions defeated Maryland in their final series last year, knocking them out of contention for the Big Ten Tournament.

The Terps close the season at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium May 16-18 against Rutgers.
