A Warren man is facing a misdemeanor charge after an incident Sunday in the city.

Damian Brown, 31, of Warren was charged with strangulation – applying pressure to the throat or neck, a class 1 misdemeanor; aggravated assault – attempting to cause or cause bodily harm with a deadly weapon, a class 2 misdemeanor; charges of making a terroristic threat with intent to injure another, simple attack, and a charge of intimidation. Warren City police filed charges Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zyronik.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by city police, Brown was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman during a custody exchange for their children when Brown allegedly became upset while speaking to a third person on his cell phone. Before he “waved a knife while waving it and said, ‘I’m going to kill you and the kids.’

The woman told police that Brown pushed her to the ground in the woman’s bathroom and put his hands around her neck, causing the woman to lose consciousness.

“When the victim was questioned by police, there were multiple noticeable red marks around the victim’s neck and throat,” the statement says. “The suspect also bit the victim’s face, in the cheek area.”

City police also filed charges Thursday against a Warren woman accused of a crime. Tiffany N. Christenson, 37, of Warren, after allegedly trying to sneak contraband, illegal opioids, into the Warren County Jail and asking an 11-year-old to take a drug test for her. Christenson is charged with Contraband/Controlled Substance, a Class 2 Felony, Corruption of Minors, Providing Drug Free Urine – Use or Attempt and Intentional Possession of a Controlled Substance. Charges were filed Thursday and bail was set at $10,000 without surety.

According to the affidavit, on Oct. 15, an officer spoke with a parent at the Warren Police Department who said that on Oct. 11, Christenson allegedly asked their daughter to urinate in a cup for a drug investigation at Christenson’s home in Warren. Between October 11 and 15, Christenson was allegedly taken to jail for a probation violation.

On October 16, the Adult Probation Department provided Warren police officers with a Visene bottle of “urine” on Christenson. Christenson was also allegedly found in possession of four round orange pills and a red straw with residue, along with the Visene bottle that Christenson had hidden when she was booked into jail. The pills were reportedly Klonipin which are not prescribed but are taken for anxiety, according to the probable cause affidavit.

“On November 4, 2024 at 1:24 p.m., (the child) completed a CAC forensic interview,” the statement says. “During interrogation, (the child) disclosed that on or about Friday, October 11, 2024, the defendant allowed her to ‘urinate’ into a clear measuring cup in exchange for the use of her cell phone.”
