Dear Abby: My husband’s trip to Paris excludes me due to mobility issues – is this fair?

Dear Abby: My husband’s trip to Paris excludes me due to mobility issues – is this fair?

DEAR ABBY: What would you say about a man who offered his wife’s siblings an all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, knowing that his wife couldn’t consider taking such a trip because of mobility issues?

Full disclosure: the husband and wife have been to Paris in the past (when the wife’s health was fine), but the husband feels the need to go again and has no one else to accompany him. His wife will be left home alone and have to fend for herself. Somehow this whole deal leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Please set me on the right path. — HOMEBODY IN NORTH CAROLINA

DEAR HOMEBODY: People with physical disabilities travel internationally all the time. If the man has the money to take his wife’s siblings on an all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, he can certainly afford to take his wife AND A CARER on that trip down memory lane. That way she would be taken care of and still enjoy the trip to the extent she is able. Didn’t anyone but me suggest this?
