Pokemon TCG Pocket announces upcoming booster packs, card trading and other key features

Good news for people with growing collections: more types of cards are coming!

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket (Pokémon TCG Pocket) is on a roll, with 30 million downloads in just nine days and less than two weeks later the developers shared some valuable updates that arrived.

The update was posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday (November 14) and outlined a roadmap full of new content and features that players can look forward to):

New booster packs and in-game events

Most players have collected over 500 cards since the game’s launch, with many close to completing the slots in the Card Database. The good news is that Pokémon TCG Pocket will be adding more booster packs by the end of the year, according to the announcement. This should be especially exciting for players who open multiple packs every day to collect rare and powerful cards.

Additionally, the development team has confirmed plans for several in-game events. These include daily packs and limited-time rewards designed to keep players engaged. On that note, some players are hoping for another event similar to the ongoing Lapras Ex Drop Event, which will give them a rare chance to collect cards outside of the existing booster packs.

Card Trading feature will be added in 2025

One of the most anticipated features is Card Trading, and Pokémon TCG Pocket will bring this to players in early 2025. While details are not yet known, the developers shared that a selection of “certain cards” will be available for trading at that time, with plans to expand this pool over time.

The contents of the upcoming booster packs remain unknown, but the trading feature will certainly increase community interaction and involvement as card trading is one of the most notable features of any TCG.

With these upcoming features arriving sooner than expected, Pokémon TCG Pocket players will have a lot to look forward to in the game. Which booster packs do you want to see next?
