Fans are gearing up for the 83rd annual Magic City Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WAF) – The anticipation started early Saturday morning with fans from across Alabama and across the country gearing up for the annual Magic City Classic in Birmingham.

The game between Alabama A&M and Alabama State kicks off for the 83rd annual classic in what is being called the biggest HBCU classic in the country.

The day started through the streets of central Birmingham for the iconic parade, as bands, dance teams and a variety of floats surrounded all the excited fans.

After the parade, the tailgates were the attraction. Fans headed to a sponsored tailgate party presented by Coca-Cola.

The game kicks off at 2:30 PM at historic Legion Field as both teams strive for victory and, of course, bragging rights.
