Shooting suspect at Philadelphia car rally wanted by police

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Authorities are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred during an illegal car rally in South Philadelphia, according to police.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on September 22 near 25th Street and Washington Avenue, where hundreds of people and vehicles gathered and caused chaos in the area. Police said the crowd caused property damage and destroyed nearby homes and businesses in the area.

The situation escalated when a resident confronted members of the group about the vandalism. The crowd turned violent and attacked the victim by punching and hitting them with traffic cones and drums.

During the altercation, some members of the group were seen with firearms. Police say one suspect, after brandishing and preparing a firearm, discharged it into the air. No injuries from gunfire were reported.

Authorities released a video of the incident and urged anyone with information about the suspect to contact them. Investigators continue to review evidence to identify those involved.
